2025: a Five-Star Vintage

The grape harvest, that annual event, a story that is halfway human, halfway fruit.

Every year, the grape harvest is eagerly awaited: we wait impatiently for the signal that only the grapes truly know. Nothing is ever set in stone, as everything depends on the whims of the weather and the patience of man. And then, when the time comes, a unique atmosphere descends on the vineyards: a joyful mix of faces and personalities, including regulars, curious onlookers and workers. The quiet ones observe, the talkative ones bring energy between the ranks. Here, there is no obvious profile, just a mixture of desire, passion and sometimes even lifestyle.

The harvest is also the physical effort of repeated movements, sometimes under the blazing sun, sometimes under showers that soak you to the bone. It is also about uncertainty, forced waiting when the weather turns bad or when the grapes need a few more days. But above all, it is about the shared moments: laughter during breaks, meals eaten together, evenings in the camps where the harvesters gather. It is the ballet of buckets, secateurs and crates circulating between the rows, and the exhilarating feeling of being part of something that transcends the individual: giving birth to a wine that evokes emotions, capable of ageing well and leaving its mark.

At Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite, the harvest period takes on an even greater significance: ten vineyards, spread across two hemispheres, harvest at different times, each producing wines that reflect the unique identity of their terroir. It is this diversity of climates, soils and expertise that enables us to create wines that reflect the soul of each location.
