Views on Château Lafite Rothschild - 1986

Jacques Henri Lartigue became a photographer at an early age. Before he became one of the most famous photographers of the 20th century, following his first solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1963, Jacques Henri Lartigue was an admired painter of the inter-war period.

“It had only taken a call from Daniel Vignat for Jacques Henri Lartigue, still enthusiastic at 91, to leave with his camera slung over his shoulder after making sure there would be good wine to drink!”

Jacques Henri Lartigue died the same year he took this magnificent photo of Château Lafite Rothschild and its vines. It was 1985.
