Gueorgui Pinkhassov
Georgi Pinkhassov was born in Moscow in 1952. After studying cinema at the Moscow Film Institute (VGIK), he joined the Moscow Union of Graphic Arts and in 1978 he obtained the status of an independent artist.
“His work was noticed by the famous Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, who invited him to report on the making of his film, Stalker, in 1979.”
His first book Sightwalk (1988) explores every detail through reflections or particular lights that often tend towards abstraction. Pinkhassov joined Magnum Photos in 1988.
