The Ecole Normale Supérieure (a prestigious university) and ESSEC business school participated in the final at Château Lafite Rothschild on 6th June last, having qualified out of nine teams from the Grandes Ecoles in April in Paris.

The University of Paris-Dauphine won the 6th “20 sur Vin” (20/20) competition chaired by Baron Eric de Rothschild.

Earlier this year, on February 26, Eric de Rothschild received the ‘Southern Wine & Spirits of America Lifetime Achievement Award’ during a gala evening in Miami.

2005 and the two previous years will be remembered for the lack of rain throughout the Bordeaux region. The vines adapted well to the drought and the grapes were harvested in good weather conditions.

On 9th June, the four finalists in the contest organised by the Commanderie du Bontemps, the ENS (Ecole Normale Supérieure – a prestigious university), the IEP (Institut d’Etudes Politiques – School of Political Science), Cambridge and Oxford, were the guests of Château Lafite Rothschild.

Vinexpo 2005, which took place in Bordeaux between 19th and 23rd June, was the ideal time to present Château d’Aussières to the public and the press.

Once again, nature was capricious. The traditional setting of the harvest date based on 45 days after “veraison”, represented 55 to 63 days this year...
