The finals of the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup organized by the Commanderie du Bontemps, which has become a key event, took place on 25 June at Château Lafite Rothschild.
Two emblematic schools joined the competition this year: MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Stanford, returning after several years of absence.
Throughout the first term of 2014, wine clubs from the most prestigious American, European and Asian schools faced one another during the pre-selection phases.
From France, it was 2 schools from Lille, Skema and EDHEC, that picked up their tickets for the Grand Finale. They were joined by 6 other teams in the finals (two per region), namely Yale University and NYU Stern for the United States, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Nanyang Technological University of Singapore for Asia, and finally the University of Oxford and Copenhagen Business School for the European zone.
The finalists showed themselves brilliantly; at the end of a captivating and enthralling evening, it was with great pride that Baron Eric de Rothschild rewarded the winning team, Edhec Lille. They repeated their feat of 2012, a good performance for a team that has only recently entered the competition. Bravo!
Edhec came ahead of Oxford and . . . Skema Lille, so France definitely took the honours at this 2014 edition!
