2012 Left Bank Bordeaux Cup
at Château Lafite

The famous competition “20 sur Vin”, renamed in 2012 the “Left Bank Bordeaux Cup”, has been organised by the Commanderie du Bontemps since 2002. This year teams from 42 Graduate Schools and universities from around the world took part.

Eight teams made it through the qualifying rounds to participate in the final, which was held at Château Lafite Rothschild on 28 June this year :

• Centrale Lille (France), EDHEC Lille (France), Chicago Business School (United States), Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), Warthon Business School (United States), City U (Hong Kong), Oxford (United Kingdom), Jiao Tong University MBA of Shanghai (mainland China).

Grand Master of the Commanderie Emmanuel Cruse and Baron Eric de Rothschild presided over the event in the uniquely intimate setting of Lafite’s circular wine cellar.

The students had to answer multiple choice questions and assess wines in blind tastings. In the end it was EDHEC who came out on top, despite this being the first time they have participated in the competition.

EDHEC won ahead of the teams from Chicago and Copenhagen.

Once again this year, a big “Well done!” to all those who took part !!
