Réserve, Médoc
Vintage 2006
In 2006 the climate was full of contrast with heat in July and September, and a cool August in between. The stormy episode mid-September was in some areas very intense, leading to inconsistent quality compared to 2005. As a result, it was essential to carefully select each batch. The best Merlots were particularly aromatic with a good tannic structure without astringency. As for the Cabernet Sauvignon, the vintage was to their advantage offering deep colours with intense and complex fresh fruit aromas.
Colour: Deep, crystal-clear ruby hue. Nose: Dense and compact. After aeration, nice notes of toast (caramel and coffee) and spices (black pepper) are released. Palate: A frank attack that opens out onto tight tannins with a typical robust structure of the Medoc. The finish is long and spicy. A Medoc that will keep well and improve with age.
