Vinexpo 2009 – Exceptional dinners at Château Lafite Rothschild
For over twenty-five years, the Conseil des Grands Crus Classés en 1855 has organized a dinner on the opening evening of Vinexpo in honour of the international press. This year 200 journalists, from twenty-five countries, were welcomed at Château Lafite Rothschild by Baron Eric de Rothschild, Philippe Castéja, President of the Conseil des Grands Crus Classés, and by the owners of other Crus Classés.
The sumptuous dinner was served in the Château’s “Chai 2000”, accompanied by Grands Crus Classés, including a 1978 Jeroboam of Château Lafite Rothschild.
For the evenings of the other three days of Vinexpo, import partners and their clients were invited to the Château. This provided an opportunity to see a preview of the new DBR film and to enjoy a relaxed dinner with a tasting of several of the Group’s grands vins: Château d’Aussières (2006), Caro (2005), Le Dix (2004), and of course, Château Lafite Rothschild (1990) and Château Rieussec (1989).
