The International Press and French Universities at Château Lafite Rothschild at the initiative of the University of Bordeaux Foundation
Created in 2009, the objective of the Fondation Bordeaux Université is to make Bordeaux one of Europe's major educational centres and, more broadly, to contribute to the region's international reputation.
Château Lafite Rothschild has participated in this project as a Founding Member with seven other prestigious estates to create the First Grands Crus of Bordeaux Fund within the Foundation.
In September, the conference of University Presidents presented the reforms and ambitions of French Universities for the future. 30 journalists from the International Press attended the conference in Paris and met the Minister for Higher Education and Research, Laurent Wauquiez.
In Bordeaux, after discussions in the field with the university directors, Château Lafite Rothschild received the delegation of nearly 30 guests for a gala dinner on 30th September. Baron Eric of Rothschild and Charles Chevallier were the hosts at this excellent informal meeting between university academics, journalists and wine producers.
