Launched in 2002 by the Commanderie du Bontemps, the “Vingt sur Vin” competition brings together the Wine Clubs of prestigious higher education establishments in a series of tasting events.
Chaired by Baron Eric de Rothschild, the Final of the tenth competition was held in the magnificent setting of Château Lafite Rothschild’s Chai 2000 on 17 June.
The contest was notable this year for its international dimension, with American and Asian students reaching the final stage for the first time. Eight establishments were represented: two French teams (Sciences Po Paris and Skema Lille); two European teams (Cambridge from the UK and Neyenrode from the Netherlands); two American teams (Harvard and Wharton); and two Asian teams (Hong Kong and Singapore).
After some theory questions and a wonderful blind tasting, it was the Harvard team that won the trophy with a brilliant performance. The Hong Kong team was also very impressive in second place.
Our congratulations to all the participants!
