“Great Wines of the World Events” have become one of the most prestigious wine showcases in Asia and in the United States.
The events focus on outstanding quality wines rated 90 points (or more) by the wine journalist James Suckling. The first edition was launched in 2013 in Hong Kong and New York City. It rapidly became an unmissable meeting for wine professionals.
On November 5th & 6th, DBR (Lafite) took part to the latest edition organized by the magazine HK Tatler and James Suckling in the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong. A magnificent setting to welcome 50 of the most influent wine producers in the world.
Christophe Salin, DBR President & CEO, and Fabrice Papin, DBR Asia Area Manager, were present for this great gathering.
During the “Grand Tasting” session, 800 people had the opportunity to taste 150 top wines rated by James Suckling. DBR was pleased to present on this occasion two classified growths, Château Duhart-Milon 2009 and Château Lafite Rothschild 2003, and to delight some lucky palates!
At the Great Wines of the World Dinner, DBR could serve at its table some other wines with scores equal or higher to 90 points: Château d’Aussières 2012, Château Duhart-Milon 2009 and magnums of Château Lafite Rothschild 1990.
The highlight point of the event was the “2015 Wine of the Year Awards” with the announcement of the 3 best wines of the year according to James Suckling. Christophe Salin had the honour to receive an award for the third position of CARO 2012. A great recognition for the premium wine of Bodegas CARO, partnership between Rothschild and Catena families in Argentina.
