Christophe Salin receives the international entrepreneur of the year award, presented by the Meininger group
Each year the German Meininger group organises a ceremony to highlight personalities who have marked the world of wine.
In Düsseldorf last March, the event brought together around 600 guests, including numerous actors from the world of wine, thus offering good visibility and recognition to the work accomplished by the winners.
Awards were made in 6 categories: national entrepreneur of the year, international entrepreneur of the year, spirits entrepreneur of the year, family estate of the year, prize of honour and the jury’s special award.
Christophe Salin received the award for international entrepreneur of the year for his successful work for Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite).
His speech, given in German, was also the occasion to thank DBR’s German partner, the Hawesko group.
Dear friends, dear colleagues,
It is a great honour for us to receive this award this evening.
This distinction awarded by Meininger crowns the work carried out by the DBR team for the Rothschild family.
I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart our friends from the Hawesko group, who has been our partner in Germany for 30 years.
Tonight, our thoughts go out particularly to our friend Alexander Margaritoff, who left us too soon.
After having left his family in Frankfurt, Baron James de Rothschild had the good idea of buying Château Lafite in 1868. Today it is his descendant Baron Eric who has passed on to us the taste for business.
Tirelessly we look for the quality of terroir and people to make the wines, which are characterised by their elegance and their finesse!
I see the work we are doing and that remains to be done, and this award as an encouragement for the future. Thank you.
