We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Philippe ROLET as General Manager of Vina Los Vascos and Bodegas CARO. In this new role, Philippe will develop DBR’s South American estates, both in the vineyards and abroad.
At Los Vascos, Philippe will be responsible for the everyday management and implementation of the strategy, and leading the very efficient executive team of Los Vascos (Francis RIQUOIR, Maximiliano CORREA, Enrique MARQUEZ, Raquel CALATAYUD, Sebastian CRUZ, Jose Luis ORTIZ and José Tomas URRUTIA). Philippe will report to the DBR executive management and to the board of Los Vascos. Philippe will take on his new role in Chile as soon as cross border travels from Argentina are permited. He will reallocate with his family to Santiago and travel every week to Colchagua.
At Bodegas CARO, Philippe will continue to hold an executive position as General Manager and will travel to Mendoza on a monthly basis. He will be joined by German BERRA as Estate Manager from Finca Flichman heading the very competent team in place (Pablo SERRANO, Maria Eugenia SAGUAN and Hector SCARSI). German will report directly to Philippe. The Catena family joins us in welcoming German, as he brings a deep knowledge, among many other skills, of viticulture’s practices. German will continue to give lectures of viticulture at the Juan Agustín Maza University, in Mendoza.
For both estates, one of Philippe’s major undertakings will be to act as the representative of the Estates on the domestic and export markets, thus travelling extensively when it be will possible.
Philippe moved to Argentina in 2002 with Bodega Alta Vista and transformed the brand as a referent in its category as well as positioning the company within the top ten Argentinean wineries. He took on a new challenge in 2016 with Alejandro Bulgheroni’s Family Vineyards with the direct management of the three Argentinean wineries and vineyards. He enjoyed the singularity of Otronia, the southernmost vineyard of the world. He joined the DBR family two years ago at Bodegas CARO and we are thrilled to now see him cross-border to Chile where he had started his wine career.
